The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.
The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
The post is for a Research Assistant in Flourishing Nature Connections, located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team in the Department of Psychiatry.
About the Role
The post is funded for 18 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. It is offered on a full-time basis with consideration given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis with appropriate adjustment of duties.
The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The postholder must be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to attend regular Departmental and Team meetings.
You will be joining an exciting research sub-group within the NEUROSEC team – Flourishing Nature Connections– led by Professor Ilina Singh. In this role, you will manage your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues as well as contributing to wider project planning and organisation, including ideas for new research projects. You will contribute to the design of research protocols and their implementation via online tools (e.g. Qualtrics, m-Path) and gather, analyse, and present data from a variety of sources.
About You

Experience in data management e.g., organising and checking data and general data processing is essential as is evidence of strong quantitative data analysis skills and some qualitative data analysis skills, applied in research. A Master’s in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or equivalent full-time research experience would be desirable.
