Applications are invited for a permanent Teaching Associate position to work at .80 FTE. The post sits in the Department of Psychology, School of Life Sciences and the Environment. The post is available from 5 January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The post holders will work as part of our academic team in a dynamic and supportive environment that is known internationally for its outstanding research and teaching. There is a strong research environment, with the Department ranked 3rd in the UK in the 2021 REF for our world-leading and internationally excellent research. We consistently achieve high levels of student satisfaction in the NSS. There is a strong culture of support for Teaching Focused academics within the Department, with regular training provided and opportunities to engage in departmental activities.
The role involves supporting teaching on the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. Teaching duties will primarily involve working within a small team to deliver our Research Methods and Statistics courses under the direction of our lecturing staff, as well as assessing students’ submitted work. Other activities could include delivering seminars and workshops, supporting the administration of teaching in the department, and taking part in initiatives designed to enhance the experience of our students.
Applicants must have completed an honours degree in Psychology and should be equipped with the subject knowledge necessary to deliver a high-quality undergraduate programme in Psychology. Some experience of teaching at undergraduate or MSc level is desirable.
