About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Research Practitioner to work in our Clinical Trials team specifically supporting our neurosurgical trials. You will be based in Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, John Radcliffe Hospital as your normal place of work but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager. 

You will be working closely with the SITU trial team, both the trial management team based in SITU and the clinical research team based in the John Radcliffe Hospital. The post-holder will be responsible for site-level coordination at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and will support the Neurosurgical research teams, working closely with research nurses and other clinical staff. You will undertake the coordination of clincial aspects of study management in order to ensure the trial is able to obtain accurate, valid data, this will involve coordination and conduct of participant follow ups, in clinic or via phone/videocall, liaison with clinical teams at NHS Trust sites in the UK and other external teams as needed. You will work closely with the Trial team based in SITU to coordinate tasks and data, and to report and feedback on issues relevant to the study. There may also be opportunity to work with the CI on additional studies which will recruit in any similar patient demographics. 

About you

You will hold a degree in a biomedical or related discipline, with proven experience in clinical research, ideally in a patient-facing role. You will bring strong skills in managing medical research data, including data coding, validation, and reporting, with a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. You will be confident working independently, following and implementing written procedures, and setting up compliant systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills are essential, alongside sound IT proficiency and a good command of written and spoken English. The role requires flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally stay overnight. GCP training is essential, and experience with clinical research methodologies, governance frameworks, and NHS patient pathways, particularly in neuro-oncology will be highly desirable. 

This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance.
