We are inviting applicants passionate about Molecular Mycology to join the Magan Centre of Applied Mycology (MCAM) as Research Fellow.
As part of the creation of the new centre, we are growing our team and are recruiting outstanding research talent to support research in 6 core areas of our research and teaching within our Environmental Sustainability subject areas.
About the Role
This position supports academic colleagues within the MCAM who are actively securing and delivering projects in the field of Indoor and Environmental Mycology. You will assume responsibility for a defined set of tasks within ongoing research initiatives funded through various sources, including industry partners, the EU, and UKRI. While the role may involve a combination of research and teaching, it will also require effective organisation, management and coordination of activities.
About You
Talented researchers passionate about Mycology or Molecular Microbiology, with a relevant PhD (or near completion) or significant experience in exploring the biological mechanisms of fungi using molecular microbiology techniques, and who are keen to make a difference and be part of a dynamic, professional team, are encouraged to apply.
Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet strict deadline while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required.
A strong track record of achievements, including publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals, relevant to your research area and career stage is also required.
Success in this role requires adaptability, flexibility, and openness to change. You should excel at collaboration, influence, and relationship-building, with a keen interest in contributing fully to the dynamic MCAM project.
