Physician Associate Lecturer (Academic) (0.6FTE, Fixed-Term)

About the role

As a Clinical Lecturer on the Physician Associate programme, you will be involved in course planning for our students, course delivery, and student assessment.  You will have the opportunity to develop your own research interests and lead, or contribute to grant writing, study design and protocol development, and ethics applications. Depending on the nature of your research activity, you may need to spend time at local NHS sites. You will also contribute to postgraduate education delivery where appropriate. 

You will be a qualified healthcare practitioner (physician associate, doctor, or other registered advanced healthcare practitioner), with a commitment to clinical research and/or medical education. Post-graduate education and/or research qualifications, or an intention to undertake an educational qualification and a higher research degree is desirable, and we will look to support those wishing to pursue this. You will be committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement. 

Applicants will also be expected to continue some clinical work on days when not employed by Bournemouth University to maintain their clinical knowledge and professional registration.

This role is available fixed-term for 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

This role is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 20 months.

The Faculty of Health, Environment and Medical Sciences is a vibrant and innovative environment containing 3 academic Schools: the School of Health and Care; the School of Allied Health and Exercise Science; and the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.  The Physician Associate School sits within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.  We are investing in some exciting new positions to further align our teaching and research portfolio.
