About the Role
The Student Outcomes and Retention Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This position leads and evaluates initiatives that foster student belonging, wellbeing, and academic success—particularly for underrepresented and at-risk groups. The role involves close collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues to improve retention and progression, especially during key transition points such as Level 3 to Level 4 and Level 4 to Level 5. The postholder will also support course rep engagement, monitor student feedback and performance data, and implement evidence-based strategies aligned with the university’s Access and Participation Plan.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in student support, retention, and engagement, ideally within a higher education setting. You will have excellent analytical skills to interpret student data and translate insights into actionable improvements. A background in inclusive education practices and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion are essential. You should be confident in leading cross-functional initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and contributing to strategic development. Familiarity with national frameworks such as TEF, NSS, and OfS requirements will be advantageous.
