An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious academic to join our team at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering.
We are seeking to appoint an academic with a background in industry to provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student.
The successful candidate will work in design studio teaching, fostering critical thinking and contextual awareness in design practice. In collaboration with course directors and colleagues, the successful candidate will also contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment and the running of the undergraduate and postgraduate architecture programmes. The role holder will also supervise and examine Postgraduate Masters and PhD students.
Our Department of Architecture and Built Environment is one of the largest schools/units of architecture in the UK with circa 1000 talented students in 15 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes covering architecture, architectural environmental engineering, urban design, building services, and sustainable energy technologies. The Department is set within the University Park campus of The University of Nottingham, composed of 300-acre of extensive parkland, rolling grassland, trees, and water features, as well as a mix of historic and modern facilities two miles from the city centre.
The successful candidate will be joining a top 100 department/school of architecture in the world according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, ranked within the top 10 departments/schools of architecture in the UK in all major guides, second in the UK for research income per person and third for research market share. We are looking for someone able to build on our existing strengths and excellent reputation, develop our offer and extend our reach and profile, both domestically and internationally.
There are two positions available for this post.
A part-time (9 hours/week), fixed term position funded until 22/09/2027.
A part-time (15.46 hours/week), fixed term position funded until 22/09/2027.
