Role information 

To lead and support quality assurance and enhancement activities within a designated group of academic schools. The postholder will ensure compliance with institutional regulations, offer expert advice on good practice, and provide support to academic staff in maintaining high standards of quality in teaching and learning. They will contribute to the enhancement of quality through both assurance and development activities and provide academic governance support to key academic committees. 

Main activities and responsibilities 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for designated academic schools on quality assurance and enhancement matters, providing expert advice and guidance. 
  • Take ownership of institutional regulations, ensuring compliance across academic schools, and supporting staff in meeting these requirements. 
  • Support academic schools in maintaining and improving quality standards in teaching, learning, and assessment. 
  • Provide advice on good practice in curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy, ensuring alignment with institutional quality standards. 
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of quality enhancement initiatives, supporting continuous improvement across the institution. 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of key academic documentation, including program validation and review reports, ensuring they meet institutional requirements. 
  • Support academic governance, providing secretarial and advisory support to key academic committees, including the Academic Quality Assurance Committee. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality assurance and enhancement activities, using feedback and data to recommend improvements. 
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and resources to support staff in understanding and adhering to quality assurance and enhancement processes. 
  • Engage with internal and external quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and accreditation standards.
