Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Hispanic Studies within UCD School of Languages Cultures and Linguistics.
Applications are invited for a permanent position as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Hispanic Studies. Candidates must have a PhD in Hispanic Studies and demonstrable excellence in the teaching of Spanish language. Applications from candidates with a specialism in Peninsular and/or Latin American literature or Translation Studies with a focus on Spain/Latin America are especially welcome. Applicants must have an excellent track record in research commensurate with their career stage.
They must have native or near-native competence in Spanish and a strong record of excellence in Spanish language teaching at university level, with the ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centred language modules across all levels. The successful candidate will complement the existing specialisms of lecturing staff. A university teaching qualification, or demonstrable engagement with continuous professional development in pedagogy, is particularly welcome. The School of Languages, Cult ures and Linguistics is a vibrant research community with scholarly interests in the fields of literature, civilisation, linguistics, history, politics, cinema and cultures of the societies in which the languages taught in the School are embedded.
Lecturer / Assistant Professor (Below the Bar) Salary Scale: €42,099 - €71,997 annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
