Please be aware the role is based in Duddon Valley, Cumbria
Are you a highly motivated to develop a community tree and wildflower? Are you capable of building relationships with the local community?
The Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery project is an ambitious, multi-partner project restoring habitats and nature to the Upper Duddon valley in the Lake District National Park. The project is funded through Defra’s Landscape Recovery scheme. It brings together farmers, the local community and environmental organisations to deliver large-scale restoration of habitats across a farmed and forested upland landscape in Cumbria. The project includes the National Trust, Forestry England, South Cumbria Rivers Trust, the University of Cumbria and Natural England.
We’re setting up a Community Tree and Wildflower Nursery to supply high-quality, locally sourced plants for the project. We’re looking for a Nursery Assistant to help with the day-to-day running of the nursery and to support local people in getting involved. As a highly motivated Nursery Assistant you will develop the Community Tree and Wildflower Nursery for the Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery Project. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, cares about plants and nature, and wants to help communities play a key role in landscape recovery.
