The Library is at the heart of LSE, one of the world’s greatest social science universities, and serves a vibrant community of students and staff in the centre of London. It has a high reputation both nationally and internationally for its extensive collections, its involvement in innovative projects and its high quality services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join a team in Access Services in the Library providing help and support to staff, students and visitors. Access Services provides many of the front of house and first point of contact services for the Library and consists of two teams, Enquiry Services and Reader Services.
This role is in Reader Services; You will assist in delivering a range of high quality services to support users of LSE Library, including membership, circulation and the management and delivery of The Women’s Library Reading Room service used for consultation of archival and special collection material.

The successful candidate will be trained as a Safepod Coordinator performing security checks and check in/out of researchers. All applicants understand that they may have to undergo stringent background and identity checks. Refusal to consent to this may lead to a refusal of the role.

You will be educated to ‘GCSE’ level or equivalent. You should be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to relate to a wide range of users and academic colleagues. You will be well organised and self-motivated with experience of team working and an ability to take initiative and solve problems.
