Research Support Officer (Impact)

Contract type: Fixed Term 12-month contract, with an option to extend (subject to funding) 

Following a first submission to the national research assessment in 2008, its research culture has grown exponentially, now boasting the largest doctoral programme in the sector and a competitive record of research income from major funders. The postholder of the Research Support Officer (Impact) position will support staff at the Guildhall School to translate their research and practice into impact. Working with the Head of Research, and the Head of the Research Office, they will take a major role in the project management and co-ordination of the School’s impact submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029.

The role holder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across teams, manage relevant impact databases, and provide expert advice on impact pathways and appropriate forms of research impact evidence. They will deliver tailored training to staff at all career stages, identify opportunities to strengthen and broaden our impact portfolio, and support the development, documentation, and communication of impact for research assessment exercises. They will bring expert knowledge and extensive experience of impact capture processes, REF requirements and best practice in the sector.
