Applications are invited from suitably qualified General Dental Surgeons for multiple part-time (0.2FTE) Clinical Teaching Fellow posts in Primary Dental Care to work on Thursdays and/or Mondays to supervise student teaching clinics or in the clinical simulation environment.  

This role is ideal for skilled General Dental Practitioners who would like to expand their clinical portfolio by teaching and favourably influencing the education of the next generation of dentists whilst developing professional relationships with colleagues.

The postholder will be expected to inspire learning and skills development in student clinics and the simulation laboratory to ensure students are equipped to deliver optimal patient care. They will be supported in their role by experienced academic, clinical and professional services support colleagues within the Institute, NHS Grampian and the wider University.

Our student clinics aim to provide holistic, good quality primary dental care in a caring environment that is optimised for student learning; to facilitate student learning through the provision of adequate materials, equipment, time and feedback and to enable students to meet the clinical requirements for graduation and prepare them to become independent dental practitioners. The postholder will support the achievement of these aims.

The post is based at the Institute of Dentistry located within Aberdeen Dental Hospital. Upon appointment, the successful candidate will be employed by the University of Aberdeen and will also be awarded an honorary contract with NHS Grampian.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical Teaching Fellow scale for Academics below level of Consultant, 20% of £48,288 - £79,047 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to clinical experience.
