About the role:
Imperial College London is seeking applications for two twelve-month OOPE Fellowships in Primary Care Medical Education, providing GP trainees who have completed their ST2 year with the unique opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in medical education.
What you would be doing:
The post holders will broaden their experience and build foundations for a career in medical education, gaining skills to support future roles in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. They will receive educational and pastoral supervision from the Faculty Development Lead, participate in Unit activities, and may take on additional duties in agreement with the Director.
The core duties of the post consist of teaching and examining medical students, curriculum planning, design, implementation and evaluation. Ongoing training is provided in house, and opportunities for external training and attending relevant conferences and meetings are also available. These include courses provided by the Educational Development Unit (EDU), with the potential to apply for the PG Cert in Clinical Education, and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) where timelines and availability allow.

The post holders will be based in the multi-award-winning Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, fellows will contribute to MBBS teaching and assessment, gain experience in curriculum design, evaluation, and educational research, and participate in the Unit’s educational communities of practice (eCoPs).
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week).
This role is for a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
