About Us

The School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering is an award-winning, multidisciplinary hub that offers a transformational education built on outstanding applied research and supportive stakeholder relationships that shapes the lives of our communities locally and globally.

The CDT Department delivers a range of over 20 undergraduate, postgraduate, degree apprenticeship and professional doctorate courses in areas such as computer science, AI, cloud computing, mobile computing, computing for business, data science, cyber security, information security and digital forensics.

About the Job

The Lecturer/Senior positions are based within the Computer Science and Digital Technologies (CDT) Department. Some essential experience for the role includes:

  • Experience of teaching in Higher Education.
  • Experience of supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate project students.
  • In depth knowledge of the CDT area and specialist knowledge in one or more of the following sub-areas of CDT: cyber security and networks, internet of things, web and mobile applications development, software engineering, cloud computing, data science and AI.
  • Evidence of using technology enhanced learning techniques.
  • For a Senior Lecturer, experience of programme leadership and curriculum development as well as evidence of impactful research outcomes

About You

You will be educated to a PhD level in computer science or a closely related subject area, with a higher degree and/or significant industrial experience. You will need proven experience of teaching in a HE environment with an ability to innovate and use creative teaching strategies and will be expected to adopt the latest teaching pedagogy and develop good practice, taking full advantage of teaching and assessment tools and technological advancement. You will be capable of producing impactful research that can contribute to our Computing REF 2028 submission
