We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Genome Privacy, in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The successful candidate will join the team of Dr. Gamze Gursoy, working on topics related to genetic privacy, computational biology, and genomics.
Role holders will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required. They will be expected to take an active role within the research group, including assisting in the development of graduate student research skills as well as participation in and planning/delivery of seminars and conferences relating to the research area.
Successful candidates will have completed (or expect to soon be awarded) a Ph.D. degree in genetics or a relevant field and have relevant background knowledge in human genetics. This is a hybrid wet-lab and computational position. The successful candidate should have experience in molecular biology, forensic, and/or ancient DNA techniques in the wet-lab setting and will be expected to collaborate closely with the Department of Genetics.
Fixed-term: The appointment is for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of extension for up to three years in the first instance, subject to available funding.
Start date: 1 April 2026 (or to be negotiated).
