We are looking for a Research Fellow, with a strong background in qualitative research methods, who can apply their skills, knowledge and experience to the UKRI Medical Research Council (MRC) funded project VoiceIn.

VoiceIn is a digital research platform and mobile app that makes it easier for people to contribute to health research. The smartphone app enables members of the public (aged 16+) to shape the future of health research by contributing to research ideas in a quick and simple way. VoiceIn research platform empowers researchers to easily upload projects and connect with diverse voices, monitor responses and post progress updates of their work.

As part of the VoiceIn project we will evaluate our co-developed digital platform drawing on the User Focused Evaluation approach, which stipulates evaluations should be assessed on an interventions’ utility to its intended beneficiaries. The post-holder will support the impact evaluation of VoiceIn, analysing usage metrics and qualitatively evaluating the experiences of VoiceIn users.

The successful candidate will have experience of conducting qualitative research to examine the usability, feasibility and impact of our co-developed intervention. A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. health-related/social science discipline) effective skills are essential. Experience of working with patients and public contributors, healthcare researchers, and community partners, combined with a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference to the health and well-being of the population, would be an advantage.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
