The successful candidate will join the Immigration Support Service (ISS) team, providing comprehensive and professional support to international students.

Our Immigration Advice team assists students with all aspects of their immigration status and offers expert guidance on applying for Student Route and Visitor visas. We are the only staff within the University authorised to advise on student immigration matters.

We can help with:

  • Applying for a Student visa to come to the UK
  • Extending a Student visa while in the UK
  • Taking time away from studies
  • Understanding visa implications of any changes to study plans

Based in the One Elmwood Building, ISS also ensures the University complies with UKVI rules and regulations. Our dedicated Compliance team works closely with the Immigration Advice team to maintain these standards.

About the person:

The successful candidate must have:

  • A degree and administrative experience or management experience OR; have substantial experience administrative or management experience in a student facing role.
  • Relevant experience of providing professional and confidential one to one advice as main part of role.
  • Relevant experience of navigating the UKVI Student Route/Tier 4 immigration system.
  • Experience of interpreting complex legislation and guidance.
  • Demonstrable experience of autonomous decision making within a prescribed code of standards.
  • Demonstrable experience of devising and delivering presentations to a culturally diverse audience on complex matters.
  • Relevant experience of dealing with e-mail and internet.

This is a fixed term post for 14 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
