About the vacancy:

The School of Social Sciences at UWE Bristol, is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Psychology.

Applications are welcome in all areas of psychology, but applicants must have the necessary expertise to be able to teach in at least one of the core areas of the curriculum on our British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited psychology programmes. In particular, we seek people who have experience of successfully supervising student research projects, and who can support Academic Personal Tutoring.

Both roles involve contributing to our Psychology provision, mainly on our BSc (Hons) Psychology and MSc Psychology (Conversion) programmes. There is also scope to contribute to our other Psychology programmes, including postgraduate provision (dependent on experience and expertise).

One post is fixed term for 12 months, and 1 is permanent. Please clearly indicate on your application whether you have a preference for the fixed-term or permanent post.

The successful applicants will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in the development and delivery of high-quality teaching. They would also be Academic Personal Tutors (APTS) and supervise students on our psychology programmes (Level 6 and Level 7 dissertation research projects).

We are particularly keen to appoint individuals committed to developing ready and able graduates who are active citizens capable of making real contributions to their communities, workplaces, and society. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and have evidence of an established track record of research excellence and publications commensurate with their career stage.

The post is based within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences, which is part of the College of Health, Science and Society. Staff within psychology primarily contribute to the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG) and/or the Social Science Research Group (SSRG).

Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience, and innovative approaches to teaching.
