College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
As AI continues to advance, it is expected to play an increasingly vital role in areas such as medical imaging, image analysis, morphomics, predictive analytics, smart medical implants and decision support systems, empowering healthcare professionals with valuable insights and enabling more precise, proactive and autonomous patient care.
As part of the CMNHS’s FutureCare Strategy to 2025, the College has prioritised the development of healthcare degree programmes that equip graduates with the expertise to deliver as future healthcare professionals. By incorporating anatomical knowledge into AI models, the algorithms can leverage spatial relationships, anatomical landmarks, and organ-specific features to improve accuracy and reliability in medical image analysis. Additionally, knowledge of anatomy can also be valuable in designing AI systems that assist in surgical planning, medical device design and autonomous implant function such as in soft robotics.
