The University of Aberdeen’s Directorate of People is seeking to recruit an International Student Adviser to ensure that students are correctly supported and advised in relation to visa applications and associated requirements. This will involve working closely with individual students, as well as with a range of University colleagues and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the UK immigration system. The role will also require the successful candidate to support our work around Immigration Advice and Compliance and the wider effectiveness of the department.
The International Student Advisers provide one-to-one support to our international student population, specifically with regard to visa applications under the Student Route of the UK Immigration System. The team provide both proactive and reactive advice and support to students relating to immigration matters and will deliver presentations to staff and students. ISA support is available to our students throughout their progress with the University, from pre-arrival to post-study options. The team of ISAs liaise closely with colleagues across the University with specific regard to immigration compliance and maintaining the University’s licence to sponsor international students. This role will also look to support wider activity within the team.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience of supporting students, ideally in Higher Education have strong inter-personal skills and good written and oral communication skills. The successful applicant must be passionate about supporting international students and will ideally have experience in providing advice to students on the UK Immigration System.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £38,784 - £46,049 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
