An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Policy and Quality Adviser (Assurance) to join the Academic Policy & Quality Adviser (Assurance) team in the Directorate of Academic Services & Online Education. The Academic Policy & Quality Team is responsible for providing administrative support to a number of the University’s main academic committees, the development of education policy, aspects of quality assurance and enhancement and for overseeing the administration of academic appeals, student complaints and academic discipline.
The successful candidate will undertake a varied portfolio of duties: providing administrative support in regard to the University’s mechanisms for the quality assurance of teaching and learning; providing a high level of administrative support and specialist advice in regard to education policy and quality matters, providing administrative support in ensuring compliance with the external regulatory requirements of the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), termed the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF). They will also be responsible for undertaking review work (e.g. analysis of external examiner reports and annual programme reviews) and supporting Committee work, as appropriate. Finally they will act as case officer to academic appeals, complaints and discipline cases, and as clerk to Internal Teaching Reviews (ITRs), as well as assisting the Head of Academic Policy & Quality in providing advice on policy matters.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team and liaise with stakeholders from across the University as appropriate, under the direction of the Head of Academic Policy & Quality.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, £33,002 - £36,636 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
