Imperial College London is one of the world's great universities, renowned for ground-breaking research and outstanding education, a highly talented community of staff, students and alumni, with international reach. Our mission is to achieve enduring excellence in research and education in science, engineering, medicine, and business, for the benefit of society.
We were founded in 1907 with a mission 'To be useful' – understanding the universe to improve lives within it. Since our founding, we have sought to be not only a world-leading university, but a world-changing one, combining our tremendous strength in science, engineering, medicine and business with scientific discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship to create real-world impact addressing global health, climate change, AI, business leadership and more.
Our new strategy, Science for Humanity, is unashamedly ambitious in seeking to maximise Imperial's potential as a force for good in the world. Our Imperial Class of 2030 programme will nurture the most talented, enterprising and diverse graduating class we have ever served; the next phase of our White City Deep Tech Campus will be a powerful engine for investment, inclusive economic growth and job creation; and our new cross-institutional School of Convergence Science will bring research impact to the emergent forces shaping our future at unprecedented scale in thematic areas: sustainability; human and artificial intelligence; health, and technology; space, security and telecoms.
Education and student experience sit at the very heart of Imperial's identity and global reputation. As a university that attracts the brightest minds from around the world, we are committed to providing a distinctive education that equips students with technical and practical skills rooted in our core disciplines, whilst enriching their wider university experience to reflect Imperial's dynamic and enterprising culture.
This is a significant leadership role of vital importance to the institution. Working closely and collaboratively with Faculties, the student body, Academic Services and colleagues across the university, you will lead the delivery of our strategic aims for world-class education provision and an exceptional student experience. You will champion innovation and creativity in teaching and learning, ensuring that Imperial remains at the forefront of educational practice whilst actively recruiting the best students from around the world.
To achieve our strategic ambitions and maintain our position as a world-leading educational institution, we need exceptional academic leadership. The Vice-Provost (Education & Student Experience) represents a pivotal appointment for Imperial's future success. As a member of the University Management Board, working colleagues across the institution, you will lead the implementation of our vision for education, drive the Class of 2030 strategy, and deliver our Learning and Teaching Strategy and Imperial Experience Academic Strategy Project.
We are seeking an outstanding individual with the vision, credibility and leadership capabilities to shape the future of education and student experience at Imperial and beyond. You will have an established international research reputation in science, engineering, medicine, business or educational research, with demonstrable evidence of having developed, communicated and implemented a vision for education. Your leadership will be vital in fostering an environment in which our academic community and students can thrive, ensuring excellence across all programmes whilst championing equality, innovation and teaching excellence.
