LSE Health is a multidisciplinary research centre with over 30 years of experience in advancing global research in health policy and health economics. Our mission is to develop and refine theoretical frameworks, apply cutting-edge methodologies, and introduce policy-relevant research questions that contribute to both academic debates and policy discussions. We foster critical dialogue about emerging research developments and their implications for health systems worldwide.
We seek to recruit an Associate Professorial Research Fellow to lead independent research on health systems challenges in low- and middle-income countries, publishing in leading journals. They will apply rigorous quantitative methods and health economics approaches to address real-world policy questions, and mentoring junior researchers. They will translate research into policy impact through active collaboration with governments, international organisations, and in-country partners.
The role requires a PhD in Health Economics or Economics, demonstrated expertise in LMIC health systems, including primary care, inequalities in accessing health services, and impact of health insurance reforms on equity, alongside strong stakeholder engagement skills and country based experience and engagement.
