We are seeking to expand our apprentice skills coach provision in the Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Greenwich. A suitable candidate would be pro-active with excellent interpersonal skills to support trainee professionals across a range of disciplines.
As an apprentice skills coach you will be responsible for meeting with apprentices and their employers to review their progress against the apprenticeship standards and work with them on achieving their End Point Assessment.
The Apprentice Skills Coach will be the initial point of contact for apprentices within the Faculty providing information, advice and guidance, monitoring progress against the relevant standards and maintaining strong relationships in this rapidly developing field which is an area of strategic growth for the University.
You will conduct regular reviews with the apprentices and their line managers, using a coaching approach to help learners develop and apply Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in the workplace to remain on track for timely completion of their apprenticeship.
The ideal candidate will have excellent administration and digital skills, with a dedicated and flexible approach to working, to ensure high levels of achievement for our learners.
A knowledge and understanding of higher level and degree apprenticeship programmes, as well as experience in a similar role is essential.
The role is within the professional services team in the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences based between the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, and the Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London. The role will require collaborative work with colleagues in the Faculty and across other centralised University teams, and is matrix managed by the Head of Apprenticeships.
We offer a friendly and supportive working environment with plenty of opportunities to develop within the role and become more involved in the wider university community.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding and safer recruitment practices, appointment to this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and an online search may be conducted on shortlisted candidates in line with our employment policies.
