Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata,  plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield                                            

The post-holder will form part of the Project Office Team, supporting administration in the School of Creative Arts with a particular focus on undertaking risk assessment processes for filmmaking projects. 

Main duties and responsibilities

To undertake a range of general administrative duties relating specifically to the Project Office, being proactive in the Project Office’s administrative teams to ensure accurate and correct completion of Project Office-related administration in full compliance with legal and University requirements. 

A key task will be to to undertake risk assessments for filmmaking projects, of a curricular and/or commercial nature. The appointee must also manage contractual processes, to include monitoring and adhering to HR processes, processing Right To Works checks, communicating with the Hourly Paid team, communicating with the appointee, monitoring and chasing as required. 

Skills and experience required

The successful applicant will have appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organization, and experience of working in Higher Education administration would be desirable.  You will have good IT skills, including the use of MSOffice and databases, and be numerate and literate.  You will also have the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner.  This role requires the ability to collect, process and present complex data, and have a methodical approach with attention to detail.  You will be able to communicate in a variety of formats to different audiences.  In addition this roles needs the ability to deal with conflicting priorities and to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines, with minimum supervision as well as being able to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality. 

Qualifications required

Educated with A-levels or equivalents or proven professional work experience. A degree would be an advantage
