This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operational Landscape Supervisor with a passion for delivering high-quality, sustainable landscape services. The successful candidate will apply their technical expertise to make a positive impact on the external university estate through hands-on operational supervision, staff development, and continuous service improvement. Your strong technical and practical knowledge of landscape operations will be an asset to the Department of Engineering and Maintenance, Landscape Services, and the wider university community. Our diverse green spaces—including the main campus, accommodation sites, and satellite locations such as the AMRC—offer significant potential to enhance the University’s reputation and create a lasting positive impression for all who visit our estate.
We are seeking an individual who will promote and implement sustainable working practices aligned with our core objectives of continuous improvement, compliance, and health and safety excellence. You will possess comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of landscape service delivery, with hands-on expertise in operational maintenance, hard and horticultural techniques.
Although supervisory in nature, this role is highly practical and requires a strong physical presence on site, where your expertise in landscape maintenance and improvements will be invaluable. You will be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions and demonstrate flexibility, including occasional out-of-hours work during peak operational periods.
As a motivated professional, you will contribute to the Engineering and Maintenance Team’s strategic objectives—including enhanced service delivery, operational efficiency, staff development, integrated management system (IMS) processes, succession planning, and compliance. Your technical expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving the ongoing development and optimisation of our landscape services. The role is active and physical and requires driving and operating of all landscape equipment.
