Established Professor of Cancer Nursing

Applications are invited for a permanent, full-time Established Professor of Cancer Nursing at University of Galway.

The proposal to establish the post of Professor of Cancer Nursing is the result of collaboration between the University of Galway School of Nursing and Saolta University Health Care Group. The post-holder will be based at The University of Galway and there is a 50/50 split in relation to academic and clinical, research elements of the role.

We seek to appoint an ambitious and highly committed academic leader with a demonstrable track record in Cancer Nursing research scholarship, competitive grant acquisition, and educational innovation. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of research outputs recognised for originality, significance and rigour, leading to national or international standing and recognition in the field of Cancer Nursing. The person appointed will be a highly committed individual who combines strong academic credentials with a record of clinical excellence, allowing them to  lead out on the School’s research and teaching profile in the area of cancer nursing, while advancing the translational and practice research priorities by developing and disseminating evidence-based care locally, nationally and internationally.

Salary: €144,298 to €182,427 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)

This appointment will be made on the Established Professor scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy. QA321-Updated-PP-Remuneration.pdf (universityofgalway.ie)
