Faculty Employability & Placements Officer

Job description:

This is a role where your people and communication skills will make a real impact, ensuring that students are supported to access placements and other work-related learning opportunities in an accessible and student centred manner. You will also work closely with employer partners, as well as academic and professional services colleagues and will be able to see early on how your positive contributions make a real impact to our students’ futures.

We’re seeking someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional service with plenty of opportunity to refine processes and shape how we work. This role could also incorporate and support you to develop management responsibility. We regularly have a student on a yearlong placement in the team, thus having a keen interest in people development is key. 

You’ll also use your negotiation skills to navigate relationships between ourselves and external partners including alumni who make a significant contribution to how we deliver employability at Sheffield.  Finally you’ll be the friendly face of the faculty team as we support our own students who are out on placement, checking in with them and ensuring they feel supported by the University throughout.
