Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

The University has flexible location principles, but there is an expectation that the post may also be required to be on campus on any day of the working week.  

We are looking to appoint a Data Development Consultant – Project Phoenix who will design and implement integration services in line with the Student Record System which can align to the University’s strategy, through a new programme of work called Phoenix.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Data Development Consultant – Project Phoenix will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing the technical and software solution necessary for the integration of data and migration of the new Student Record System to ensure continuity of services used for learning, teaching, research, business and administrative services. 

Whilst the Data Development Consultant – Project Phoenix will be dedicated to the Phoenix implementation team, it will be necessary and expected that they will also work collaboratively with other colleagues in the corresponding teams to ensure strategic alignment against the University’s enterprise.

The Data Development Consultant – Project Phoenix will provide specialist expertise focused to develop, manage and ensuring support of integration, identity management and data warehouse services, ensuring reliable interoperability and secure exchange of data flowing to and from Student systems and other applications software. Responsibilities will include installation, configuration and upgrades to Student Record System software as required in line with SaaS provision.

Skills and experience required

You will have substantial proven practical expertise and experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in design, implementation and management of IT systems and substantial proven expertise and experience in data modelling, mapping and analysis. Experience of managing work activities which require a high level of collaborative working, time management and technical skills in a busy environment and experience and understanding of the technical architecture relating to a Higher Education student record system is essential.

You will have a good understanding of information security principles and best practice and demonstrable knowledge of IT projects best practices. Being self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to work calmly under pressure using own initiative as well as strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills is essential.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven administrative experience. A relevant professional qualification and/or relevant accreditation is desirable.
