This is a fixed term position for 12 Months
The Research Grant Application Manager (GAM) supports and coordinates the development and submission of research funding proposals at LSE, ensuring they meet funder and institutional requirements. The role provides leadership, expert advice, operational oversight, and collaborative support to enhance the quality and efficiency of servicing and cost recovery of research funding applications across the School. The post-holder ensures that proposals and associated budgets are developed and submitted in compliance with funder and institutional requirements, adhering to internal and funder deadlines, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Research Development team, LSE and external partners to deliver a high-quality, efficient service. The post-holder will contribute to training, guidance and knowledge sharing, and may support the supervision and mentoring of junior colleagues.
Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge and previous experience supporting costing and pricing, regulations and the development process and submission of research funding applications and awards for a wide range of sponsors and funding bodies when seeking external funding (or similar). Also, demonstrable understanding of emerging research funding priorities and the current and future impact on application process, and costing and pricing research in a UK and related international context, and the ability to review sponsor and partner contracts and where necessary drafting agreements/contracts.
