Main duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the Student Information and Planning team by assisting in the production of analytical business information. They will assist the Business Analysts in preparing and developing statutory returns for external bodies and will therefore be required to develop a good understanding of UK HE issues/guidance/policies/initiatives that impact on the University. They will also be required to develop and maintain the ability to use data from the Student Record System including functionality, knowledge of where data is held and how to extract data.
Skills and experience required
You will have proven high level IT expertise, particularly in database applications and data visualisation and experience in producing analytical business information for a range of users, including senior management.
You will have an understanding of database theory and practice, including experience of manipulating small and large datasets and experience of interpreting complex regulations and specifications.
Finally you will have experience of dealing with internal and external contacts at varying levels of seniority, creating strong working relationships.
Qualifications required
You will hold the minimum of a Degree (or equivalent) level qualification or have relevant professional experience.
