The College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) at the University of Galway seeks to appoint a Lecturer contract type A in Podiatric Medicine, 1FTE permanent post.
We are seeking applications for the above post in the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine, School of Health Sciences at the University of Galway. The appointment will be at the lecturer level. The successful candidates will be expected to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to research and scholarly activities within the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine. The Discipline of Podiatric Medicine is housed in the Áras Moyola Building whereby we have state of the art facilities for academic and clinical skills teaching and research. The post - holder will support the BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine programme and the MSc (Pre-registration) programme in Podiatric Medicine; the only BSc programme in Podiatry within the Republic of Ireland. The B.Sc. (Hons) Podiatry programme is designed to educate and train those who wish to pursue a professional career in podiatry, as a health care professional, who specialises in the management of disease and disorder of the lower limb and foot. The programme design recognises best practice and aligns with national and international standards. The postholder will play an important role in ensuring that the curriculum continues to meet professional and regulatory body requirements and keeps abreast with changing approaches to service delivery within the health care sector.
The post holder will have an influential role, supporting these two programmes in Podiatric Medicine programme, in ongoing curricular development and innovation, in the delivery of academic and clinical skills teaching, clinical supervision and through student support. They will support the Head of Discipline of Podiatric Medicine in establishing new postgraduate opportunities, including graduate entry and postgraduate taught programmes.

Salary: € 64,903 to € 103,538 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
