About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, with a focus on Paediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry, to contribute to our high-quality teaching and scholarship. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the education of future dental professionals and be part of a vibrant academic community.
The key duties of the role-holder will be to contribute to the teaching and delivery of the BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Therapy Undergraduate Programme, including clinical supervision. The academic and personal support of students are also key requirements. In addition, a willingness to contribute to student recruitment and admissions in the subject area would be desirable.
Professional Membership/Registration with the GDC is an essential requirement for this role. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Job share is also considered.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a Diploma or equivalent/higher qualification in Dental Hygiene or Dental Therapy and full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). You should have postgraduate clinical experience in dental hygiene and therapy and experience in teaching within a classroom and clinical setting. A strong record in pedagogy and student support is essential.
You should also have higher education teaching accreditation (Associate Fellow or Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) or be in the process of obtaining it. A postgraduate qualification in science, dental, or education is desirable. Strong communication skills, the ability to develop funding proposals, and the ability to build relationships and manage conflicts positively are also essential.
