The Department of Research Governance, Ethics and Integrity (RGEI) plays a critical role in safeguarding the quality and credibility of King’s research. The department ensures that all research conducted across the university is safe, ethical, lawful and carried out to the highest standards of integrity and rigour. Our teams develop and deliver policies, systems, guidance, training and initiatives that support researchers in navigating ethical and regulatory requirements, enabling them to conduct high‑quality research with confidence while feeling supported & valued.

About the role

The Research Support Assistant role is an exciting opportunity for an individual keen to develop a career in research support and involves providing essential administrative support to the Research Governance and Research Ethics Offices within the Department of Research Governance, Ethics and Integrity (RGEI). 

The role contributes to maintaining high standards of research governance, ethics, and compliance by supporting established review processes & assisting the research community across the university. The position offers broad exposure to research governance & ethics activities, with significant scope for learning and professional development. The post holder will act as a key point of contact for staff and students, support effective communication and coordination across the teams, and assist with the operation of systems and processes that underpin ethical and responsible research at King’s.

The post will have a particular focus on supporting clinical governance sponsorship administrative support, which may involve engagement with other RMID teams as part of a newly created Clinical Research Hub. Tasks will vary depending on the needs of each team, making this an ideal role for someone eager to gain a wide variety of learning & development opportunities. This is a busy and varied role based within a rewarding, fast-paced & stimulating environment.

King’s adopts a hybrid working model, and the post holder will be based at the Lavington Street Building, Waterloo Campus, when on-site. Comprehensive training will be provided.
