The role
We seek to recruit a Pathway 3 member of staff who can lead on activities crossing over between secondary school and university mathematics education. In particular, they will act as Unit Director for the Maths in Schools unit. They will need to be familiar with safeguarding procedures and able to ensure academic integrity of the unit.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for selecting students for the Maths in Schools unit, equipping them with pedagogical techniques, designing and supervising schools placements, liaising with school hosts and assessing student logbooks. There may be further opportunities to support the delivery and assessment of other units at an A Level standard, including the Foundation units, and to act as a mentor for other Pathway 3 staff.
You should apply if
You have experience of School mathematics education and working with University students.
Can organise and supervise placements at Schools across the City
Can work to deadlines to assess student written work
Familiar with modern pedagogical approaches to mathematics education and how to impact these to students.
