Henley Business School’s International Business and Strategy Department is seeking an outstanding Professor in International Business and Strategy to further strengthen the Department and School position as a global leader in international business and strategy. We are looking for a visionary and collegial academic leader with an exceptional international reputation, a strong record of high-impact research, and a commitment to mentoring and developing others. This is a strategic appointment for Henley and for the University of Reading, offering the opportunity to shape the future of research and education in international business and strategy.

International Business and Strategy is at the heart of Henley’s mission and has built a reputation over more than six decades as one of the world’s leading centres for research and teaching in international business. The Department hosts the renowned Dunning Centre for International Business and is home to a vibrant community of scholars whose work has helped define and advance the field globally.

We are seeking a Professor who can:

  • Lead and deliver world-leading research, publishing in FT50 and other top-tier journals.
  • Secure substantial external research funding and build ambitious, collaborative projects.
  • Provide intellectual leadership and mentoring to colleagues at all career stages.
  • Contribute to and innovate in teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, DBA and executive education levels.
  • Play a key role in shaping the strategy, profile and impact of the Department, the Dunning Centre and the School.

You will be an established scholar in international business and strategy, with an internationally recognised research profile, a strong track record of publications and funding, and experience of successful supervision of doctoral researchers. You will be an inclusive leader and an engaged academic citizen, committed to supporting others, building partnerships with external stakeholders, and contributing actively to the wider life of the School and University

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading international business school, to contribute to a world-class tradition in international business research and education, and to help define the next chapter in the development of the International Business and Strategy Department.
