This is a wide-ranging role working for Technical Services and placed within the Department of Typography & Communication. You will be responsible for providing support for students, staff, and visitors in the use of specialist printing and finishing equipment and design software.
Working under the direction of academic staff you will deliver workshops for students and work closely with students to help them achieve their learning objectives.
You will also administrate the Department’s Real Jobs scheme and maintain specialist areas and the associated teaching and research materials and collections.
You will expected to feedback regularly to Department and Technical Services staff, develop positive working relationships with colleagues in all areas of the University and conduct yourself in a professional way at all times.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background/interest in the craft-based aspects of graphic design who is keen to develop this expertise and share it with others.You will have:A BA or equivalent professional experience in a design discipline.
Experience in graphic design and letterpress printing practiceAbility to demonstrate graphic design software and letterpress printing.
