We have an opportunity for a Learning Technologist to join our small, friendly, campus-based E-Learning team. The postholder will work with us to support staff and students to use various learning technologies including our virtual learning environment (VLE), similarity detection service to support academic integrity, lecture capture system, student attendance and engagement system and Microsoft 365 applications like Teams, Word and PowerPoint.
This role is required to respond effectively and promptly to queries and requests from staff and students related to digital learning, teaching and assessment. It also involves configuring activities and resources on our VLE, supporting administration of our VLE and other e-Learning systems and designing and delivering training, both in-person training in real-time and the creation of online guidance and support materials.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience to the role. They should have experience supporting users in the use of a VLE where they resolved enquiries in a system administrator or equivalent role and have experience of designing and delivering online and in person training in support of learning technologies. Applicants must be able to work well both in a team and independently, and they must be able to reflect on and develop the quality of their work in response to feedback from others. We work in a busy environment so applicants must be able to prioritise work with a strong customer focus when supporting students and staff and be able to solve problems systematically and effectively. An ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person is essential.
Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome. Please contact Kris Dines at k.dines@staff.newman.ac.uk to discuss the role further.
