About this role
This is a full-time permanent post working in the College of Health and Social Sciences, and specifically the Sociology, Criminology, and Policing Subject Group, this post will focus on teaching and supporting learners on the Policing programmes. UWE currently work in partnership with Avon and Somerset Constabulary to develop an integrated PCDA (Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship) programme, Diploma in Police Studies and DHEP (Degree Holder Entry Programme) which provides training and education for approximately 200 new police constables across 4 cohorts each year. We also run the Professional Policing Degree and a Level 6 Top-Up. You will be working predominantly on the PCDA programme.
There may also be an opportunity to supervise undergraduate project and placement students, and to undertake the pastoral and academic care of students through the academic and personal tutor (APT) role on both the Policing and Criminology programmes. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to recruitment and outreach activities, such as Open Days during the term.

There is an expectation that all academic staff have or work towards their post-grad higher education, which will be facilitated by the university.

You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
