FTE: 1FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Fixed-term for 13 months

Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year 

Location: Bishops Square, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire 

Main duties and responsibilities

You will provide high-level support to the Associate Director with the management of processes relating to the University’s Examinations, Exceptional Circumstances, Fit to Sit, Appeals, Academic Misconduct and Fitness to Practice (FtP) activities.

You will manage a physical examination office on campus during the examination periods, managing staff and ensuring the examinations run as determined by the UPRs and support when required with the preparation of the University Graduation ceremonies. To manage the pre and post ceremony venues which will include day to day management of staff. You will also deputise for the Associate Director where required and continually find innovative and effective communication methods to reach a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to include the maintenance and development of relevant intranet / websites. 

Skill and experience required

It is essential that the candidate has administrative experience in a large, dynamic organisation and experience of managing a team. Experience of interpreting and applying complex University and Professional Body regulations would be advantageous. The post holder will be required to work with a considerable degree of autonomy.

The candidate will need to bring a willingness to be flexible in time and in workload to support effective team working, and to facilitate seamless customer service They will need to have excellent attention to detail and good IT skills.

Qualifications required

You will have a minimum of a degree or equivalent or have significant professional work experience.
