We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled full-time Research Assistant to join Dr. Maria Rostovskaya's lab at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be involved in a research project focused on the epigenetic regulation of cell fate choice during human development, supported by the MRC Career Development Fellowship.

The project will involve optimising and applying methods to genetically and epigenetically modify human pluripotent stem cell lines based on cutting-edge CRISPR-based techniques, and in vitro differentiation of the modified cells. The job holder will have the opportunity to learn and apply a wide range of techniques including CRISPR-based genetic and epigenetic editing strategies, molecular biology (molecular cloning, RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, chromatin immunoprecipitation), and advanced tissue culture (human pluripotent stem cell maintenance and in vitro differentiation, cell transfections). They will assist with the design, implementation and interpretation of experiments. Other responsibilities will include preparation of reagents, maintenance of stocks and assisting in the day-to-day running of the laboratory.

Laboratory experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques are essential. Expertise in general areas of stem cell biology and DNA/RNA/Protein isolation/analysis, would be desirable for this position. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, coupled with excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills is required.
