Are you passionate about engineering and eager to make a significant impact in the field of metal casting?

The AMRC Castings Group is seeking an ambitious CAD & Simulation Engineer to join our castings team. This is an outstanding opportunity to apply your expertise with specialised software to generate casting methods supported by the virtual simulation of mould filling, solidification, and cooling processes. Your work will be pivotal in predicting typical casting defects, improving rapid prototype development, and reducing foundry scrap rates to achieve groundbreaking research results, working alongside a highly experienced casting engineer.

The Graduate CAD and Methods Engineer is a technical engineering support role within the AMRC Castings group providing an enthusiastic engineer opportunity to grow into a technical role. To succeed, you will need a high degree of self-motivation which will give you the ultimate capability of generating casting manufacturing methods. This role is at the heart of all our research activities ensuring opportunity for future growth. The role will involve the use of a reasonable degree of mathematical principles and numerical models and hence your numeracy skills will be essential.

You will be mentored by a highly experienced CAD and Methods Engineer who will share all the technical knowledge and experience needed for you to succeed. The AMRC Castings group has a reputation for excellence within the wider industrial network of esteemed businesses. This role will give you a fantastic foundation from which your career can grow. Beyond the technical requirements, the role is highly collaborative.

Ultimately, the successful candidate will be a degree-qualified engineer or scientist who can communicate complex technical concepts to any audience. They must be as comfortable with technical reports and design specifications as they are with managing timelines and building professional relationships.
