Job description:
The Department of Finance has a rare opportunity for a Procurement Category Manager, suited to a procurement professional who wants to utilise and further develop strategic and operational knowledge and stakeholder engagement skills within a complex and high profile organisation.
The University is not a contracting authority as defined in the Procurement Act of 2023 and therefore is not subject to the Act. Therefore from a Procurement point of view we sit between a public and private sector organisation and applicants with experience of either of both public and private sector procurement would be most welcome.
The primary focus of this role will be to engage your stakeholders and strategically manage your supply base in order to achieve best value in the University’s non-payroll expenditure. The University Procurement service operates a Category Management (aligned to business partnering principles) approach. We are looking for an individual with substantial experience and skills in relation to managing the full life cycle of procurement. This focus will provide an excellent opportunity for you to take a lead role in change management initiatives.
If you are passionate about Procurement, Category Management and making University wide change then we would like to hear from you.
