This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and fun School of Creative Arts, working across the whole School with an emphasis in Art & Design.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will deliver high‑quality technical demonstrations in 2D software and related techniques across Creative Arts programmes, while providing specialist technical support in line with current Health & Safety regulations. You will manage, maintain and operate a range of teaching and research equipment within Creative Arts. A key part of the role involves supporting the operation and delivery of projects within the School’s digital immersive cave.
You will design and deliver content for taught sessions and oversee technical areas and digital suites. Additional responsibilities include supporting Open Days and Applicant Days.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial experience working in a technical role within higher education along with practical industry experience using a wide range of digital software within the creative industries. You will possess advanced proficiency in 2D CAD applications, as well as hands‑on experience with technical equipment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and confidence in communicating with people are essential. The role requires someone who is a team player – flexible and adaptable to workload and requirements, proactive and highly organised.
Qualifications required
The successful candidate will hold a HND, degree, or NVQ Level 4 in Graphic Design or a closely related discipline, or equivalents. An IOSH Managing Safely qualification, or evidence of working towards an equivalent Health & Safety certification, is desirable.
