Department/Location: Centre for Research in Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK
Cambridge Digital Humanities is seeking an organised, proactive and collaborative Administrator to join our professional services team in a dynamic academic environment. The role is part-time (18.5 hours per week) and fixed term to 31 July 2027 in the first instance.
This varied role sits at the heart of the research centre, leading the administration of our Data Schools and Visiting Scholar programmes while supporting key academic processes. You will coordinate end-to-end visiting arrangements, ensuring compliance with University and immigration requirements, and play for a key role in delivering a welcoming and well-managed experience for scholars from around the world.
Alongside this, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Department through flexible administrative support, assisting with short course and data school registrations, finance tasks, helping academics plan research trips, and providing cross-team support during peak periods.
You will be a highly organised and reliable administrator with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team, you will bring sound judgement, a proactive mindset, and a flexible approach to a busy and evolving environment.
With excellent communication skills, you will engage confidently with academics, students, and international visitors, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and a strong service focus. A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to support colleagues are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support within a world-leading academic institution.
The closing date for applications is: Sunday 17 May 2026. Interviews will be held in the first week of June, subject to change.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2027 in the first instance.
