About us

At UCL, we are committed to addressing the world’s most complex challenges through research, education and innovation. Our global reputation is built on academic excellence, and our success depends on attracting and supporting a diverse, talented student community.

Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA) plays a critical role in achieving this ambition. Working at the heart of the student journey, we ensure that prospective students experience a seamless, accessible and high-quality admissions and enrolment process.

This role partners with UCL’s Information Services Division (ISD), who deliver technology-enabled change across the institution. Through collaborative, agile teams, ISD design and deliver products that enhance the student experience and support staff across UCL.

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and delivery-focused Head of Student Lifecycle Systems and Product Delivery, Admissions and Enrolment to lead the vision, development and continuous improvement of systems underpinning the student lifecycle.

Acting as Product Owner for the New Student Product team, you will define and drive a clear product vision and roadmap, ensuring our admissions and enrolment systems deliver measurable value for applicants, students and the wider institution.

You will champion user needs while balancing institutional priorities, working closely with senior stakeholders across faculties and professional services. Leading a cross-functional agile team, you will translate strategy into delivery—managing a dynamic backlog, prioritising enhancements and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

The role requires you to:

  • Shape and communicate a compelling product vision aligned to UCL’s strategic goals
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, acting as a trusted partner across the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes across the student lifecycle
  • Oversee delivery through agile practices, ensuring value, quality and impact
  • Use data, insight and user research to inform decision-making and measure success

This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of technology, student experience and organisational change.

About you

You will bring substantial experience within the Higher Education sector, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end student lifecycle. You will have a proven track record of delivering complex change initiatives, either as a subject matter expert or in a product ownership capacity within technology-enabled transformation.

With a clear appreciation of the strategic and operational drivers that shape the student lifecycle, you are able to anticipate complexity, navigate interdependencies, and contribute informed, forward-looking insight to the development and enhancement of systems and services that support students throughout their journey.

You are comfortable working across systems, data and processes, and are driven by improving user experience and delivering measurable outcomes. Analytical and strategic in your thinking, you use evidence to inform decisions and articulate value.

Above all, you are committed to working collaboratively, contributing to an inclusive culture, and shaping services that support an outstanding student experience at UCL.

What we offer

As well as exciting opportunities, UCL offers a range of great benefits. Find out more: UCL Rewards and Benefits.
