About us
The UCL Institute for Materials Discovery (IMD) was established in 2014 within MAPS. The mission of the IMD is to link fundamental materials science, chemistry, physics, engineering and biological principles across the institution, to create new opportunities and developments in clean energy, nanotechnology, engineering and biomedicine. The IMD has a presence both the UCL Main Campus in Bloomsbury and the UCL East Campus in Stratford and the postholder will be required to spend time on both Campuses.
About the role
The IMD wishes to appoint a Senior Education Administrator who will specialize in ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for both taught and research courses and programmes, to include enquiries, applications, marketing, exams and progression. You will also be responsible for the management for all matters relating to teaching and learning activities of students from enquiry to completion, including the organisation of committees and processes relating to assessment, student and course records. The post holder will also assume full responsibility for the management and development of the Teaching and Learning Administrator (grade 6) within the Institute. The post holder will be required to spend time at both the UCL Bloomsbury and UCL East campuses. Time spent at each Campus will be agreed in conjunction with the line manager and some flexibility will be required.
The position is available for 12 months initially starting from May 2026.
About you
The successful application will be educated to A level (or equivalent) or have the relevant experience required having worked in an administrative role in higher / further Educations or a Teaching and Learning environment experience with course/programme admin experience. The applicant will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of people in a teaching and learning context. You will be able to prioritise and organise your own workload working both independently and as part of a team and be committed to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion.
