The Role
We are recruiting to the role of Law to deliver an ambitious new area of University strategy, driving professional education for the University through the Law Clinic.
We are seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Law Clinic Manager working within the Roehampton Law School. The Clinic has been part of Roehampton since January 2019. It is a successful, growing, and busy Clinic that provides free legal services to those in our community who would otherwise not be able to access it, whilst at the same time training our Law School student volunteers to acquire practice-based skills and knowledge. We have expanded the Clinic’s work recently and are keen to recruit a candidate who can help make the clinic a central element of the work of the School.
The Law Clinic Manager will be responsible for managing day to day operations of the Clinic, including supervising the legal team and liaising with the Law School and wider University; ensuring the Clinic remains in compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks; maintaining relationships with the existing partners and seeking new collaborations with partners; ensuring and managing referrals from the public and Citizens Advice Bureau; developing the Clinic policies and protocols; managing client matters and their experience. The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification and a background in legal practice that will lend itself to managing a law clinic.
You will be able to work positively with colleagues and have the ability to develop and lead the collaborations of the Clinic. You will also need to evidence previous managerial work experience in the legal services sector. Excellent work ethic, good communication skills and strong attention to detail are required. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace both remotely and on campus.
