We are seeking a Communications Officer to support the delivery of high quality communications activity across the Nuffield Department of Medicine, with a particular focus on education, medical research and digital content creation and engagement.
In this varied role, you will plan and deliver communications campaigns that support student and staff recruitment and also enhance the visibility of the Department’s education, research, people and impact. You will develop engaging, audience-focused content across digital channels, including social media and web, and contribute to the planning and delivery of integrated communications activity aligned with departmental priorities. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will identify content opportunities, manage digital platforms, and ensure communications are accurate, accessible and aligned with University and departmental strategies. You will also monitor and evaluate performance, using analytics and insight to inform continuous improvement.
We are looking for a communications professional with experience in delivering digital communications and campaigns, including creating and managing content across websites and social media. You will have excellent writing and editing skills, strong attention to detail, and confidence using analytics to evaluate and improve performance. With good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, you will work effectively both independently and collaboratively, building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. A good level of IT proficiency and awareness of current digital and AI developments in communications are essential; experience in higher education or student recruitment would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive communications professional with strong writing and digital skills, who is confident working independently and collaboratively in a complex organisation.
